Eventskop Privacy Policy
Eventskop helps people discover, save and create events. This policy explains what data we process, why we process it, and the choices available to users.
1. Who We Are
Eventskop is operated as an event discovery application for Serbia and nearby markets. Contact: privacy@eventskop.rs.
2. Data We Collect
- Account data: email, nickname, password hash, email verification status, authentication provider identifiers and avatar URL when social sign-in is used.
- Event activity: saved/interested events, created events, event edits, organizer actions and moderation status.
- Preferences: language, appearance, notification settings, quiet hours and inferred event preferences based on interactions.
- Location data: city, venue, address and coordinates attached to events; approximate/current device coordinates only when the user enables location-based features.
- Notification data: Firebase Cloud Messaging device tokens, platform, locale, timezone, last seen time and optional last known coordinates for nearby alerts.
- Imported public event data: public event names, dates, venues, descriptions, source URLs and images from supported sources such as event websites, ticketing pages and social/event platforms.
- Technical data: request logs, IP address, user agent, security audit events, error logs and request IDs for troubleshooting and abuse prevention.
3. How We Use Data
- To create and secure user accounts.
- To show events, maps, saved items and user-created event pages.
- To recommend relevant events and avoid showing low-quality results.
- To send requested notifications, reminders, organizer updates and optional nearby alerts.
- To geocode venues and addresses, improve search and prevent duplicate venues.
- To moderate content, detect abuse, rate-limit risky actions and debug production issues.
4. Location
Location access is optional. If enabled, Eventskop may use current coordinates to show nearby events or send nearby alerts. Users can disable location permission in their device settings and can disable nearby alerts in Eventskop settings. Event venue coordinates are public event metadata and may remain visible as part of event listings.
5. Notifications
Push notifications are opt-in at device level and controlled in Eventskop settings. Users can disable all event notifications or specific categories such as reminders, recommendations, weekly digest, nearby alerts and organizer updates. When notifications are disabled, Eventskop removes or stops using the active device token where technically possible.
6. Event Import And Public Sources
Eventskop may import publicly available event information from supported websites, ticketing platforms and social/event pages. Imported entries are used to help users discover events and may include source URLs and public images. Eventskop does not claim ownership of third-party content. Organizers or rights holders can request correction or removal at privacy@eventskop.rs.
7. Service Providers
We may use infrastructure and services such as hosting providers, MySQL/database hosting, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firebase Crashlytics, Google Sign-In, LocationIQ/geocoding, map providers and SMTP/email providers. These providers process data only as needed to run the service.
8. Retention
- Account data is kept while the account is active.
- Security and delivery logs are kept for operational, legal and abuse-prevention needs.
- Uploaded event images are kept while referenced by active events and may be cleaned up when unused.
- Imported event data may remain while the event is relevant, unless corrected or removed.
9. User Rights
Users may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or export of their personal data by contacting privacy@eventskop.rs. Some data may need to be retained where required for security, abuse prevention, accounting, legal obligations or dispute handling.
10. Security
Eventskop uses password hashing, token-based authentication, rate limiting, audit logging, request IDs and role-based access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we aim to keep data protected using practical current standards.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as Eventskop evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above and, where appropriate, notifying users in the app.
